The 16’s National Waterpolo Club Championships took place this week, with both men and women from around Australia taking to the pool.
These championships have been the biggest on record with 19 boy’s teams and 24 girls team involved.
The standout club has been Sydney’s Cronulla Club, with both the boys and girls team vying for the gold medal.
In the boy’s competition, UNSW West’s Magpies claimed bronze after beating Adelaide Jets 13-7 with the grand final to be played between Sydney’s Cronulla Club and Perth’s Melville Sharks.
On the girls side of the competition, Sydney Northern Beaches survived a late revival from Drummoyne Red with the winner coming from Emily Carr making the end score 9-8.
The Cronulla girls club dominated their semi-final game winning 9-5 against Perth’s Dolphins White. They will now face off against Sydney Northern Beaches in the grand final.
